Description

Very good+ in thick cardstock wrappers. Plastic spiral binding. Yellow cardstock with black lettering. 4to, 188pp. Wrapper extremities, several closed tears. Interior clean and unmarked, binding tight. A center of manufacturing prior to and, especially, during the Second World War, Pittsburgh’s economic output left the city smoke-filled and soot-covered. In the immediate post-war period, city officials undertook a survey of the city, specifically focusing of infrastructure improvements, and public works projects, such as the creation of new recreation areas. 1945 marked the beginning of the renaissance of the Steel City. A forceful argument for the role of the public sector in urban (re)development modernization.
